Worth it if

You send a lot of estimates and nobody owns the follow-up.

Skip it if

You already call every open estimate on a schedule.

What gets set up

Your field software sends planned follow-ups after an estimate goes out and stops when the customer replies. Jobber includes automated quote follow-ups on its Connect plan. If your software can't do it, Zapier can connect your estimates to texts or emails, and Claude can write messages that sound like you.

Why it matters

Big-ticket estimates like repipes and sewer lines take time to build, then sit. Without a follow-up, a lot of them quietly go to someone cheaper or never happen.

How I estimated the hours

0.5 to 1.5 hrs a week: Following up on 8 to 15 open estimates a week at about 5 minutes each. Rounded down. The value is in the jobs you win back.

Questions

Three or four over two weeks is common, stopping the moment they reply. After that, a person should decide whether to call.

Housecall Pro sells a Pipeline add-on with automated estimate follow-ups. It doesn't publish the price, so ask your rep.
