Worth it if

You post or email rarely because writing takes too long.

Skip it if

Someone already handles your marketing well. AI posts won't beat a good person who knows your customers.

What gets set up

You give AI the basics once: what you do, where you work, your current offers and how you talk. It drafts a month of short posts and one email for the season, and you edit them in an afternoon and schedule them. It's a writing helper, not a marketing plan: you still decide what to say.

Who’s done it

Nobody has published results for this one yet, so this use case rests on my judgment. If you’ve done it, tell me how it went.

You’ll need

  • A short list of your services, towns and current offers
  • Two or three past posts or emails you liked

Try it

I own [company name], an HVAC company in [towns]. Write 8 short Facebook posts and one customer email for [season, e.g. early fall]. Topics: furnace tune-ups before the first cold snap, what a strange furnace smell means, our maintenance plan, and one behind-the-scenes post about our crew. Plain words, no hype, no emojis. Our current offer is [offer, or say none]. Here's an example of how we write: [paste a past post].

Read what it gives you before you send or use it. You know your customers; it doesn’t.

Run your own numbers

Think about the posts and emails you'd send in a month if writing were easy.

Why it matters

You know you should post before the first heat wave and email past customers before furnace season. It never happens because there's always a job to run.

How I estimated the hours

0.5 to 1.5 hrs a week: Writing 2 to 4 posts and an email a month from scratch takes 4 to 8 hours; with AI drafting it's about a quarter of that. Spread over a month. Rounded down.

Questions

Not if you edit them and they sound like you. The risk is posting generic filler. Give it your real offers, your towns and an example of how you write.

Any of the big ones writes decent drafts. Use the one built into the email and documents you already use, or Claude if you don't have one.
