Also written up for HVAC: Ask for a review after every job and draft the replies · Roofing: Ask for reviews when the roof is done.

Worth it if

You finish far more jobs than you get reviews for.

Skip it if

You already ask at every job and reply the same day.

What gets set up

A request goes out by text or email when the job is marked done. When a review comes in, AI drafts a short reply that mentions the job, and you approve it. Replying on your Google Business Profile is free. NiceJob and GatherUp automate the requests if your field software doesn't. Keep one- and two-star reviews for a person.

You’ll need

  • A verified Google Business Profile
  • Customer phone numbers or emails

Try it

Write a reply to this Google review for [company name], a plumbing company in [town]. Review: [paste review]. Thank them by first name, mention the job and the plumber if named, two or three sentences, sound like a local owner. If the review is negative, don't write a reply; tell me to handle it myself.

Read what it gives you before you send or use it. You know your customers; it doesn’t.

Run your own numbers

Count review requests and replies in a normal week.

Why it matters

Happy customers rarely review unless asked, and replying to reviews ends up as the owner's late-night chore.

How I estimated the hours

0.5 to 1 hrs a week: Asking for reviews and replying to 5 to 10 a week at about 5 minutes each. Rounded down.

Questions

No. Handle those yourself. A canned reply to an upset customer usually makes it worse.

Not to start. Replying on Google is free, and many field software plans can send a review request when a job closes.
